All Hallows in New Orleans

Making friends in the Bayou

I’ve been lucky enough to see much of the United States over the course of my life so far, but until late fall of 2015 I had never been to New Orleans, a place that I had always had near the top of my list. I was lucky enough to go for four days over Halloween with friends and I quickly fell in love with everything this city has to offer. Now I just need an excuse to go back.

We stayed in the garden district which is a beautiful quiet area outside the hustle and bustle of it all, but still just a quick tram ride into the core of the city.

We did the standard walk down Bourbon Street, but quickly left it behind as it seems to have become a bit of a haven for drunken frat dudes. Instead we spend time on Frenchman’s Street, toured the Quarter, listened to tons of jazz, wandered through cemeteries, ate some of the best food and, of course, took in a swamp tour which involved feeding both alligators and raccoons…a combo I could not possibly have predicted.

Below are some favorite images and I truly cannot wait to find a way back there. Any New Orleans residents need a wedding photographer? Travel costs are on me.
