I had the pleasure of working with Bandaloop Dance Company and Pink who did an incredible vertical dance number for 2017’s American Music Awards. A fearless Pink was harnessed to the side of the JW Marriot hotel in downtown Los Angeles to sing her new song, Beautiful Trauma, while fans, and host Tracy Ellis Ross, looked on. And sing, she did! They did the number 4 times and she sang live each time while also doing intricate choreography. This is a feat in and of itself, but then when you add being strapped to a building 30 feet up with no mats, it becomes death defying.
As the official photographer for Bandaloop, it was an incredible pleasure to witness these events from the safety of the ground. I was blown away by the artistry of all the dancers involved and this company is truly a feat to be witnesses. If you haven’t seen Bandaloop and their vertical dance, check them out immediately.
