A Tobermoy Wedding

wedding photography, tobermory, bride, groom, portrait, wedding day, sunset

I’ve known Thomas for 10 years, which seems hard to believe. In my mind, oftentimes he’s still the shaggy haired 19 year old who loves Coldplay and wears Oakley sunglasses. However, in the last ten years, he’s finished school, got a great job, moved across the country, cut his hair and met the incredible Tara.

So, when he asked me if I would be willing to shoot their wedding, I jumped at the chance. These two decided to do a tiny beach wedding in Tobermory, officiated by their good friend Jordan. It became like a fun weekend away, with about 30 of their friends and family gathering in cabins in the surrounding area. We played games and ate some delicious food prepared by the parents’ of the bride and groom. When Saturday came, we all trekked to the cove of the beach and hoped that the rain would stay away for the course of the ceremony. It did!

The ceremony was full of laughs and tears and all the wonderful, intimate moments that are only possible at a small wedding. I had to keep my own tears in check while shooting, and it wasn’t easy. I’m so thrilled to have been able to be a part of this. In my opinion, it really was a perfect weekend.

What followed was a wonderful dinner at the Tobermory Brewing Company and the reveal of the best wedding cake that I’ve ever seen. Oiler’s fans, take note!

Here are some highlights from the day:
