Jordan and Devon's Backyard Wedding

Updated: Oct 23, 2018

I met Jordan and Devon at a wedding that I shot in October of 2017 and immediately hit it off with them, so I was thrilled when they asked me to shoot their own wedding. We bonded over our love of games, escape rooms and scary movies and while none of these made an appearance at their wedding, I knew it was going to be something special. Sidenote: if anyone is doing an escape room/murder-mystery wedding, I’ll definitely shoot it for free haha.

The wedding took place at Jordan’s family home which backs onto a park and couldn’t be more beautiful. I’ve said before that small, intimate weddings are my favorite to shoot, and here I am saying it again. These two kept their guest list to 26, which felt perfect for the space. Family from both sides and a few friends gathered to watch them get married, with the help of Daisy the trusty family dog who really took to her role as the ring-bearer. After the ceremony, Devon, Jordan and my fabulous second shooter escaped into the fields to get some shots of the new husbands. Friends and family enjoyed a few drinks and appetizers (from the incredible folks at Emma’s Eatery) before they all sat down a gorgeous communal table decorated with flowers and rosemary (fantastic florals and event design by Rikki Marcone Events).

The night was full of some touching toasts and amazing food and it was everything that a great wedding can be, a night filled with love and community. The night ended with the cutting (and eating of course) of a truly perfect wedding cake and a number of other fantastic desserts. I was lucky enough to get a piece of a vegan chocolate tart that I’m still dreaming about.

All and all, it was a perfect day for a couple that couldn’t be more well-matched. I am wishing them the very best that married life has to offer. Below are some favorite images:
